| RIP River Court: One Tree Hill landmark being removed |
Nov 29, 2011 One Tree Hill Can 2 comments |
Not really James related but something you should read as a One Tree Hill fan. It was more than just a patch of concrete. For the past nine years, fans of the locally filmed drama series “One Tree Hill” have made pilgrimages to the maksehift basketball court in Battleship Park across the river from downtown Wilmington. Now, the “river court,” as it was known on the show, is being torn up. Crews worked on the court Monday, cutting through the concrete. The show finished filming its ninth and final season a couple weeks ago, so there was no more use for the court. Fans, however, hoped it would stick around as a memorial to the show they loved. A petition was started but time was not on fans’ side. It’s unclear how quickly it will take crews to remove all traces of the court from the park, and rainy weather could interrupt their work. So if you’ve been hoping for one last pilgrimage to the court, you better hurry. UPDATE: We’ve learned that the crews today were instructed to cut up small squares of the court that will be sent to Los Angeles. That is all the work being done today. The rest of the court will be taken down at a later date (but soon). I’m guessing that means pieces could be auctioned off, but that’s just speculation at this point. Nov 16, 2011 J-Lafferty.com updates Can No comments |
As you probably all know, the gallery is set to only allow registered members to view the photos. I have made the decision a long time ago to do this because I want everyone to know how much time I put in J-Lafferty.com and with collecting the photos and so many people abuse my hard work. I have done a big cleaning up of the user database over the past week and I have deleted 10,220 member accounts who were inactive or never activated, and a lot of them were spam accounts. If I accidentally delete yours, please be understanding and hope you will register again with us. If you got any questions, please submit them in the comments area and I’d be happy to help out. |

| After nine years, a big One Tree Hill sale |
Nov 13, 2011 One Tree Hill Can 3 comments |
Even if you’ve never watched the show a day in your life, the “One Tree Hill” Wrap Sale might be worth checking out. As the Wilmington-made series shoots its final scenes next week after a nine-season run, what’s left will be stuff. And lots of it. “Everything’s got to go,” said Brian Norton, who is marketing the event for the Auction Company of Wilmington, “so we’re going to do everything we can to get it sold and in good hands. It’s for anybody and everybody, whether you’re looking to furnish a house or stock your wardrobe pile. “There are things there that I want.” Two weekends in December will offer the chance for the public to come to EUE/Screen Gems Studios and walk away with a piece of the show or a great deal on some holiday gifts. “Some things are going to go ridiculous,” Norton said. “We know that. But with everything else, there’s so much stuff that there will be a huge amount that’s going to go for cheap money.” A tag sale of 15,000 pieces of wardrobe items, artwork and linens with fixed prices kicks off the shopping extravaganza Dec. 2-4. An auction of furniture and appliances follows Dec. 9-11. The most sought-after items, such as “Brooke’s bedroom set,” Norton said, will go up for bid Dec. 10 sometime after noon. Brooke is the character played by Sophia Bush since the show’s debut in 2003. A website with photos of the items available will go live closer to the event, but buyers and bidders will have to come out in person if they want something, Norton said. “We imagine that a lot of stuff is going to be grouped together,” he added.
